Summer Parent Communication August 8, 2024

August 13th ~ 1st Day of School

Dear School Parents,

School begins next Tuesday, August 13th.  If you have not done so, please review all enrollment information on the PowerSchool Parent portal to make sure your information is correct.  If you have difficulty accessing this information, you can reach out to receive assistance at [email protected]

The school offices are open and can answer any questions you may have.

6th GRADE SCIENCE CAMP:

If you haven't done so already, please register and submit your payment for Science Camp for any 6th graders wishing to attend science camp.  If you have any questions, contact Mrs. McKnight at [email protected].

SCHOOL BOND ON NOVEMBER BALLOT:

In November, a school bond will be on the ballot for PRUSD. If approved by the voters, the bond will provide financial resources to fix or replace leaky roofs, update heating and cooling systems, provide community evacuation centers with conditioned air, modernize classrooms, and reconfigure school entrances and exits to improve student safety during drop-off and pick-times of the school day.  All information will be added to the BOND MEASURE 2024 page on the PRUSD website. https://www.prsd.us/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=4388183&type=d&pREC_ID=2596968

Portable Communication Device Policy:

PRUSD revised its Electronic Devices Policy. Students in grades K-5 can no longer use personal mobile communication devices (including any watch device you can use to communicate via text or voice) on elementary school campuses. If brought to school, the devices must be turned off and placed in their backpacks. The 6-8 grade students may use them up to the first bell, but then they must be placed in their backpacks and turned off until the students are dismissed after the last period of the school day.

If any students violate this district rule, they will be disciplined, and their devices will be confiscated and returned to their parents. Please help us monitor this. We recommend keeping all communication devices at home until the student returns from school. Thank you for your continued support.

Enjoy the County Fair!
